Organizations and Workspaces Overview

Organizations and workspaces form the foundation of Donovan's structured environment, empowering seamless collaboration and efficient data management for users. These concepts create a structured framework to manage datasets, assets, threads, chats, and memberships, ensuring that each user's experience is tailored to their specific organization and its needs.

Understanding Organizations

An organization serves as the top-level basis for customer or business accounts within Donovan. It is typically linked to a contractual agreement and encompasses a group of users. These users have "membership" within the organization, granting them access to the organization's specific resources and capabilities.

Navigating Workspaces

A workspace is a critical component of Donovan's organizational structure. It is a collection of datasets and is uniquely associated with one organization. Every user belonging to an organization is entitled to access their organization's workspaces. Workspaces provide a structured environment for data analysis, allowing users to effectively manage and analyze datasets.

Exploring Datasets

A workspace can consist of one to many datasets. A dataset is a collection of assets, forming a corpus of information that can be queried over. This architecture ensures that relevant information is organized and easily accessible for analysis and decision-making purposes.

User Entitlements

Users within their respective organizations are exclusively entitled to access workspaces, datasets, assets, threads, and chats that belong to their organization. This segregation guarantees that data remains relevant and secure within the context of the organization.

Admin Privileges

Admin users wield management capabilities within their organizations and workspaces. They have the authority to oversee members and data.
